inspections

Theatre Design Services, LLC is pleased to include Theatre Rigging Safety Inspections as a scope of work offered directly to theatre owners and managers.
- Rigging Safety Inspection, along with maintenance, diligent record keeping, and documented safety instructions are requisite components to risk management relating to a theatre Rigging System
- Rigging Systems are often subject to improper operation and misuse under the hurried schedule of productions and in many schools Rigging Systems are operated by students who are not fully trained in the correct procedures and safe operation
- Damaged or worn components or assemblies in the Rigging System can result in catastrophic failure and may result in injury or death
Rigging inspection services by Theatre Design Services, LLC are performed by an experienced ETCP Certified Theatre Rigger, and are based upon a practiced understanding of building and safety codes (IBC & NFPA), ANSI standards, and manufacturer’s specifications. Theatre Design Services, LLC is not a manufacturer or installer of Rigging Systems—we are an objective third-party.
Rigging Safety Inspections include the generation of a report that includes a system overview, lists of damaged or worn equipment, notes any issues of non-compliance, and suggests remedies to any problems observed during the inspection. If your theatre’s Rigging System lacks documentation then a Rigging Safety Inspection can be the basis for reintroducing record keeping. The Rigging Inspection report issued in a timely manner to the owner’s or district’s representative (generally within 14 days of inspection date.) Cost for Rigging Safety Inspections varies by venue. We would be pleased to present you with a draft proposal for your facility upon request.
